Hand washing is a vitally important life skill for everyone - and it is vital that young children learn not only how to wash their hands, but how to wash their hands effectively, using warm water, soap and disposable towels.
When should we wash our Hands?
(1). After using the Toilet.
(2). Before Eating.
(3). After dirty or outside play.
(4). After touching animals.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) recognise its significance - indeed hand washing is an integral part of the Physical Development strategy.
Curriculum guidance for the Foundation StageHand washing is a very significant factor in this guidance;-
"Children will also improve their ability to take care of themselves, for example dressing, going to the bathroom or washing hands, if they are encouraged to be responsible for meeting their own needs."
"Create opportunities for moving towards independence, for example having hand-washing facilities safely within reach or children making decisions for themselves, such as choice of food."
